Mysore College of Engineering & Management (MyCEM), Mysuru, organized an educational visit to the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, on 18th August 2026 for the First Year Engineering students as part of the Induction Programme. The visit aimed to provide students with an opportunity to gain exposure to scientific research, food technology, innovation and advanced laboratory practices.
During the visit, students were introduced to the various research and development activities carried out at CFTRI. They gained valuable insights into food processing, preservation techniques, food quality, safety, packaging and modern technologies used in the food industry. The students also learned about the importance of research and innovation in addressing challenges related to food production, nutrition and sustainability.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to interact with the scientific environment and understand how theoretical knowledge is applied in practical research and industrial applications. It encouraged students to develop curiosity, scientific thinking and awareness of emerging technologies.
